As an award-winning freelance journalist, I write where my curiosity takes me, anywhere from a fourth-generation hops farmer still finding ways to innovate to a passionate makers community tucked into the mountains of rural Washington, an endurance athlete who pushes her boundaries, and small cattle ranchers who find creative solutions to systemic ag problems.
As a freelance content writer, I seek out brands and organizations that inspire me, which makes filling up a content calendar with new and creative ways to tell their stories a joy.
I have been at it for the past six years, with a BA in English, and Creative Writing Concentrate from the University of Maine. I am also a trained speech language pathologist with an MS in Communication Disorders & Sciences from the University of Oregon, lending a strong research background to my writing and years of experience translating technical information to a general audience.

Fun Fact: In 2015 I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail with my husband. It took us 5 months and 5 days.
Originally from Maine, after the trail my husband and I lived and worked in in Walla Walla, Washington and moved back to our home state with our young daughter just before the pandemic. When I’m not writing, I’m either outdoors covered in sidewalk chalk, hiking, drawing, learning calligraphy, or planning our next adventure.
